"Winning isn't everything, but wanting to win is."
-Vince Lombardi
I am Alex Park, a 12 year old curious dog lover and a STEM & Project Based Learning fan! My amazing experience at HPMS has become a foundation for my future passions: mathematics, technology, computer science. I love friendly competition and always take a failure as a great way to learn.
STEM
STEM invites curiosity and lets students experiment and learn from mistakes. It is one of the subjects that keeps you questioning no matter what the end result could be. Also, it helps to explore a wide variety of topics and implement the new knowledge in different projects. And projects are always fun! Not only can one create something new, but one can also learn how to work on a team.
Project Based Learning
In our PBL class, we study theme-based units where we choose a question and explore by making projects. My projects are usually about dogs!
Some projects I have made are:
“Pasta Bridge”: developed creativity and architecture skills
Collaborative iMovie: learned about a new software that utilizes videos, graphics and music to make a simple movie
Second iMovie, Public Service Announcement (PSA): improved my iMovie skills and had more fun!
Board game: all about teamwork!
“Idea Tree”: sparked my curiosity and upgraded my logic
My dog Cookie
I have made many good friends at HPMS. However, my best friend I met in Puppy City! His name is Cookie.
Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.

One day a stranger cordially thanked my mom, who is a healthcare professional, for all the hard work she does for the community during the COVID pandemic. I realized two things. First, my mom is actually cool!👍 And second, helping people is the most important thing to do. But I do not like BLOOD😕...However, I am strong in math! So...I have decided to study Computer Science and one day create a computing platform that could be utilized in healthcare and advance it to a higher level.
Thank you for visiting my portfolio. You can see more of the work we create by visiting our HPMS Gallery.
