Project Based Learning
Our middle school program includes Interdisciplinary Studies where we examine unit themes through project work. Below are some of my favorite projects!
Peace & Conflict Unit
In this unit, I chose to study the concept of The Other, and specifically explored witch trials in history. For my project, I made a mirror with sayings and phrases on it so that people could consider the concept of ‘Other’ when they looked at themselves.
Food & Water Unit
During this unit, my question centered around the cultural history of coffee. I created a recipe book of coffees and teas from around the world with my friend, Emma. (Click on the image or here to see the whole book!)
ELA Project Work // Romeo & Juliet
In ELA, we studied Romeo & Juliet. My group made a film taking a modern twist on a classic.
Espanol
I’m very passionate about world issues and also languages. This project, created in Spanish, is about the protesting in Cataluna. Click here or on the image below to access my slide presentation.
Montessori Model UN
I have participated in MMUN for the past three years. I enjoy learning about current events and meeting people from all over the world. This year I was on the SOCHUM committee representing the country of Armenia. Click below to read two of my position papers.
Improving the Coordination of the Effort of Human Trafficking
Elimination of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia, and racial intolerance
