Hi my name is Max and I love sports but more than anything, I love performing. Whether it’s singing, acting, sports broadcasting or commentating, I will always enjoy and cherish the experience. I am a very social person and I really enjoy communicating with people who have a lot in common with me. In every environment I’m in I always try to make new friends.
Drama
Drama is an important part of my life because I have been acting ever since I was very young from mini skits from 1st to 5th grade. I have acted in 3 different plays since then. One of them was King Artie and the Knights of the Rad Table which personally I did not like because I thought it was “cringy.” Another one is The Trial of Goldilocks which was my favorite play that I have acted in. The last play that I acted in was a musical called The Montessori Musical which I liked better because I played Mussolini and I had a solo song where I tangoed with Maria Montessori.
Voice
Singing and music have been my passion since I was 2. When I was 2, I would wake up early and listen to Miles Davis and Thelonious Monk. Since then my tastes in music have changed from The Beatles to Little Richard and Aretha Franklin. I have been singing in all of my school’s talent shows since I was in 4th grade.
Media & Visual Arts
Broadcasting is something that I might want to do as a job in the future. In the AV Club, we did a school news show and I was the sports reporter for that. That was something that I enjoyed a lot and I learned about broadcasting. Now I watch sports games on mute and I commentate on them by narrating the game, play by play.
In 5th grade, I worked on an art project where we took a video of murals in Jersey City. Then we made it using a 360 camera lens to see what the murals would look like from a bee’s perspective.
Montessori Model UN
MMUN is a passion that I developed because I am interested in world issues and trying to resolve them in realistic ways. Click here to read my position paper. I was on the UN Security Council representing the Republic of Senegal on the situation in Somalia.
Sports
Extracurricular activities have been something that I like because I can follow past hobbies and maybe develop new ones. Soccer and Basketball are activities that I enjoy. I really like playing sports and being part of a team.
